Bible Verses Regarding Babies: How to Begin Appreciating Babies

Babies are the cutest. In the course of our lives nearly everybody wishes to have a baby. It is a fact of life. It’s embedded within our body’s genes. God wants all of us to procreate, and babies are the quintessential symbol of procreation. The setting of the movie “Children of Men” in which every single woman has become barren and unable to give birth to babies is a horrible realization of the end of the world. The movie itself is regarded as post-apocalyptic.

Think about it. Folks are naturally attracted to babies. Persons of various age groups – little kids to grandma and grandpa – all crowd over to the the new mom showing her baby to the world for the first time. No one can resist smiling to observe a baby display its initial signs of recognition or say its very first words. Conversely, nothing worries us more than the cries of an awakened infant alone in its room.

On the flip side, some individuals simply do not understand babies, even small children. They deomonstrate curiosity for quite a while, and then they back off. These individuals have extremely thin patience. They get irritated easily at the noise and ruckus infants and young children tend to make. I know some people who are exactly like this.

Nevertheless as adults, we should learn to understand that babies are merely doing pretty much the only thing they can do to receive our attention. The Bible verses teaches us to love as well as care for babies, whether our own or not. God wants us to protect babies as well as little children as they are His gifts to us.

Below are a few sample Bible verses about babies.

“Sons are a heritage from the LORD, children a reward from him.” Psalm 127:3

“At that time Jesus said, “I praise you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the wise and learned, and have revealed them to little children.”” Matthew 11:25

“Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.”” Matthew 19:14

“Like newborn babies, crave pure spiritual milk, so that by it you may grow up in your salvation” 1 Peter 2:2 (NIV)

“And I will give children to be their princes, and babes shall rule over them.” Isaiah 3:4 (KJV)

“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born, I consecrated you…” Jeremiah 1:5

That last quote is especially telling. It is as if babies for it is as the Lord said, “the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these”. Infants can be quite a bit too playful sometimes. If you find yourself losing patience, be comforted in the Bible verses and seek out the guidance of the Lord.
