Mega-Churches Go Green With Ansmann Rechargeable
I remember many years serving as Creative Arts Director with a large South Jersey church. One of the first things we did was upgrade the sound system. While this was a pricey endeavor, there was one small thing we did that actually saved money: Batteries.
With Christmas and Easter productions using 80+ batteries per show for wireless mics, together with weekly worship services, we easily used $2000 annually in batteries. Until we switched to Ansmann rechargeable technology.
Now today, as President of a company that are experts in helping organizations convert to money-saving, planet-saving rechargeable technology, it certainly is a pleasure to observe other houses of worship going green.
Literally, every week we add new “church” clients to the listing of users of our own rechargeable technology. And, permit me to once more say “thank you” for the many happy client referrals we receive. However, these past couple months, we’ve had a few of the more “notable” churches in the country convert to Ansmann rechargeables, namely:
- Northpoint Community Church and Ministries - Alpharetta, Georgia
- Saddleback Church - Lake Forest, California
- WillowCreek Community Church – Barrington, Illinois
- Fellowship Church and Campus – Grapevine, Texas
While these “mega-churches” demand a big volume of chargers and rechargeable batteries, the technology works exactly the same for small and medium-size churches. It’s not uncommon for a large church to use in excess of 50 batteries per Sunday. Needless to say, most mega-churches likewise have satellite locations, multi-campuses, classrooms and services over the week.
However, the funds saved by switching to Ansmann rechargeables is likewise realized by the church with 1 wireless microphone.
To be certain, it certainly is more dramatic to talk about how “XYZ church” was using 100,000 batteries per year and spending $10K in batteries, but we’re all called to take into consideration where we are able to save resources. I believe it’s known as being faithful in the “small things.” And in the arena of everything we all do, batteries tend to be a little thing — but — everyone uses them, which makes an enormous thing.
Remember, every year, 15 billion little throw-away batteries turns into a really big mess – and expense.
Which leads to the most obvious question: Who else could benefit from converting to Ansmann rechargeables? Besides the church down the line, there is also that school, theater, and production facility — plus every family (including yours) that can spend less along with the planet by making the switch. This is exactly why we begain offering a complimentary Rechargeable Evaluation to any church, school, theater, or production facility that may be hunting for the best recharging system to take care of their wireless mics, IEM’s, along with other gear.
Remember, it’s the small things we do that ultimately add up.
